La Via Dansante

It’s become vogue to take a career pause lately, especially now with a pandemic and the Great Resignation.
My wife Barbara and I did,
and we had the adventure of our lives.

After searching for, hiring, mentoring, advocating and placing my successor at United Way of Tarrant County, my wife Barbara and I took a couple of years off. We had purchased a 44-foot sailing catamaran the year before, and named her La Vie Dansante. Now it was time to make her our home. We sold everything, cast fate to the wind - quite literally - and sailed the Atlantic Coast, Bahamas and Caribbean for two years. Just the two of us!
