The Arsonist in the Office with Pete Havel
When I created No Clichés, I envisioned bringing you inspiring stories from the arena of leadership, as well as some no-BS arrows to put into your leadership quiver. My chat with friend and colleague Pete Havel includes a bunch of sharp ones.
If you've ever had to endure a dysfunctional workplace culture or tiptoe around a supposed teammate who's looking for a reason to lodge a new complaint against somebody, you may think you know toxic. Well, I'm here to tell you - Pete Havel knows toxic.
A former lobbyist for some of the biggest, most powerful organizations in the US, Pete’s shocking corporate experience was the inspiration for his book The Arsonist in the Office: Fireproofing Your Life Against Toxic Coworkers, Bosses, Employees and Cultures.
Pete is now President of Fireproofed Leadership, a business that helps organizations fix their workplace culture problems and build better cultures. His speaking, training and consulting are sought out by organizations ranging from Fortune 500 companies to International Police Organizations to Trade Associations to Churches.
He’s also a pretty good guy, despite being a New England Patriots fan.
As a leader, you owe it to yourself to heed Pete's advice on how to avoid toxicity, and what to do WHEN you encounter it - because there are those who have and those who will. Listen below or wherever you get your podcasts.
